Casey Watkins Costuming

A native of Wilmington, NC, Casey received her Bachelor's from NC State University, and her Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design from Southern Illinois University.

She has designed, worked, and taught for theatres and universities such as Valdosta State University, East Texas A&M University (formerly Texas A&M University-Commerce), the Monomoy Theatre, North Carolina Theatre, Porthouse Theatre, McLeod Summer Playhouse, North Carolina Stage Company, and Raleigh Little Theatre. She is currently teaching at the University of North Carolina Asheville.
Casey's interests include the intersection of clothing, culture, and performance, and tries to bring global perspectives and experiences into her teaching. She has taken students to the Edinburgh Fringe in Scotland and lead a study abroad experience in South Korea. She most enjoys the collaborative, pedagogical, and multidisciplinary aspects of theatre, and always looks forward to the next thing she can learn.
